Roofing Award Wins and Nominations for Salmon Solutions

The RCI Pitched Roofing Awards

Salmon Solutions are very proud to announce that we’ve been shortlisted for the ‘Best Use of Hard Metals’ award at the RCI Pitched Roofing Awards for our work on the Charterhouse School Science & Maths Centre. 

One of the most iconic public schools in England, Charterhouse was founded in 1611. We were tasked with providing the new roofing for the Science and Mathematics Centre which had to be functional and preserve  the beautiful aesthetics of the building. Working closely with the architect – Design Engine – and principal contractor Total Construction, we used contemporary materials to deliver a modern solution for the school’s needs. 

Using 1200m2 of roofing and cladding to meet an order exceeding the value of £280,000 was no mean feat, and we are very grateful for the assistance and support of our partners VM Zinc and ALM. The order was received in June 2017, with the job needing to be completed before the start of the school year in September 2018. 

The project itself was complex, with 13 different substrate make-ups requiring hours of planning to ensure everything ran smoothly. Using our tried and trusted skillset and high quality materials, we were able to complete the job on time and to the highest standard, which has led to us being nominated for this award.

The VM ZINC Social Media Competition

As well as being shortlisted for an award for the project itself, we’ve also won the VMZINC social media competition for the beautiful photo of the finished Charterhouse School project. The photo perfectly encapsulates the intricacy and quality of our work as well as the elegance of the building itself.

The award was presented to us at our Surrey office by Richard Parrett, the VMZINC sales manager, who bestowed us with a lovely bottle of bubbly to celebrate!
